“TMR is a respected and well established leader in the field of mountain business in Central Europe and is now joining a new lucrative segment by adding golf to its activities. Golf is becoming more and more popular nowadays and the number of players in the Central European region is constantly growing. The complex of Ostravice at the foot of the Beskid Mts. is a very interesting challenge for us and encourages our company to boost and use the synergies with our Slovak, Polish and mainly Czech resorts much more. The Golf & Ski Resort of Ostravice is a first-class Czech resort which is embraced by numerous natural, historical and leisure time activities. The Beskid region is sought after both in summer and winter. Our new acquisition shall be not only about the golf course leasing. We would like to expand the TMR hotels network and build a new luxurious hotel in the value of approximately 10 million EUR in the resort. We are also preparing a development plan that would include suites and blocks of flats. Golf will be a new product offered by our GOPASS loyalty programme. This means the programme members will enjoy not only skiing at our ski resorts or amusement park and water park tickets at lower prices but golf-playing members will have a chance to join a golf club meant for them. We hope that Ostravice will not be our last business step in this sphere,” said Bohuš Hlavatý, the managing director and chairman of the Board of Directors at TMR.

“We are very happy to have support of a strong partner that will help develop the whole resort and improve the quality of our services,” added Jan Kastner, the general manager of Golf & Ski Resort Ostravice.

The Golf & Ski Resort of Ostravice was opened in 2008 and awarded as the Best Czech Golf Resort in the Golf Digest ranking in 2009, 2010 and 2011. Along with the golf complex, a lit cross-country skiing resort was created for professional and recreational cross-country skiers. The 18-hole golf course is located between two highest peaks of the Beskit Mts. – Lysá hora and Smrk at the foot of Mt. Žár in the village of Ostravice at the altitude of 400 metres (Moravian-Silesian region, Frýdek – Místek district). The GREEN INN Hotel features 36 spacious rooms with high standard amenities, a restaurant with high-quality regional cuisine, wellness services and variable conference rooms. The Golf & Ski Resort of Ostravice offers membership of the Ostravice Golf Club and training possibilities for individuals as well as groups. Please read more on www.ostravice-golf.cz
