“We hope to have good weather this year and welcome more than 36 competing teams at the Goulash cup. This event is not just about riding motorcycles. It is also about real culinary art where business is mixed with pleasure. We want to show all beauties of Slovakia to our friends from all over Europe – Slovak ethnology, traditional crafts and folk costumes, which form an integral part of our culture,“ said Miloš Dano, co-organiser of the Goulash cup & Harley meeting and Vice-President of H-D No.1 Slovakia.

On Friday 23rd August, competing teams will start to prepare their posts in front of the FIS Hotel*** – in the sports area where the goulash cooking championships will be held. The jury will be composed of chefs of various Tatra hotels and the Cook club of Žilina will come to guarantee objectivity. There will be a lot of fun with the folklore ensemble Vagonár, the presenter Henrich Medveď and Štrbko the Bear. The girl´s band Energy will perform on the stage and the folklorist Lukáš Janoška will present traditional crafts and skills of old farmers.

“This year´s cup will be full of experiences. Besides teams of motorcyclists and cooks from all over Slovakia and neighbouring states, there will be also race car drivers and organisers of Rallye Tatry competing in the cup. After the delicious goulash, all visitors can enjoy folklore entertainment and try to master a scythe, a rake or a whip,“ introduces the hotel manager of the FIS Hotel, Erika Fočarová.

A grand opening of the delicious Goulash cup will start on Saturday at 10:00 a.m. with motorcyclists of various Harley Davidson clubs. After the end of the contest and a prize giving ceremony, all Harley drivers and visitors can make individual motorcycle trips to the Tatras and the neighbourhood. Families with children can enjoy attractions such as boating on the tarn of Štrbské pleso or chairlift trips to Mt. Solisko, older children can even try to ride a motorcycle.
