59 men and 21 women will be competing on skis and snowboards on the northern and northeastern side of Mt. Chopok in terrain with an inclination of 53 to 35 degrees. The race starts at the altitude of 2,002 metres and finishes at 1,602 metres, the riders will have to surmount an altitude difference of 400 metres in rocky terrain. “It is not surprising that at races which are rated as high as Jasná Adrenalin, some of top twenty skiers and snowboarders in the world are registered. We are expecting for example Swedish freeride female skier Lotten Rapp, who is ranked 12th in the world these days, Ivan Malakov from Russia and Sam Lee from New Zealand, both on skis. We are also looking forward to welcoming Michaela Hollsten from Finland, who is on the 4th place in the world snowboarding ranking. All mentioned racers participate in the FWT as well. The spectators can enjoy unique views from the opposite ridge at the upper chairlift station in the area of Konský Grúň again. There will be racers from Spain, Andorra, the Netherlands, the Czech Republic, Germany, France etc. Slovakia will be represented by Ján Tajboš, Marek Gazda and Martin Labuda. The event is organised on a top-class level like every year. It is our personal approach to the participants that helped us to be considered the best organised event. Even racers who do not participate in the competition in Jasná plan to come in order to enjoy the atmosphere and the rich additional programme,” said Ladislav Mrava, the race director of CGC Jasná Adrenalin.

All freeride fans can look forward to a welcome party in the Happy End music club from 1st March, the race itself on 3rd or 4th – 5th March, testing of freeride skis and a great aprésski party at the lower station of the Funitel cable car in the area of Priehyba on Saturday 4th March. The race in Jasná is organised by the Slovak Association of Freeride Skiers (SAFL), which was established in 2002 with the aim to unite people who are interested in freeride skiing. It organises the Jasná Adrenalin race every year and helps create conditions for this sport in Slovakia. The international FWT series ends with a grand finale in Verbiere, Switzerland in April 2017.
