It will be really hot in the Tatras at the first spring weekend. Not only due to warm spring temperatures but mainly because of the first spring grill party at Skalnaté Pleso. Those who feel like tasting delicious grill specialities or other products on a sunlit terrace will enjoy a surprise as well. A special 15-person cable car with light effects and music playing inside will be operating between the mid-station Štart and the upper station of Skalnaté Pleso. The party car and life music at Skalnaté Pleso will guarantee great fun and relaxation in a beautiful Tatra environment. The resort of Štrbské Pleso will host a great snowboarding weekend. All lovers of this sport can look forward to European Slope Style Cup on 22nd and 23rd March, which is a new Olympic discipline. A rich programme and a party on the slope are prepared for all participants and spectators. Apart from the longest and most difficult, 5.5 km long slope leading from Lomnické sedlo to Tatranská Lomnica, skiers can also enjoy red and blue slopes in the resort on the third spring day. Although the mild winter has been giving a hard time to operators of ski resorts, the resort of the High Tatras offers ideal conditions for spring skiing. There is 80 cm of natural snow in Lomnické sedlo (saddle), 55 cm on the slopes in Tatranská Lomnica and very good conditions. Skiers are enjoying spring temperatures and spring ski pass prices.
