The winter is still not willing to say goodbye in the mountains. The last weekend at Mt. Chopok was again dedicated to skiing thanks to the April foolish weather. And it is the skiing at the south side of Mt. Chopok that will get a new dimension in the following winter. At the location of Krupová – Srdiečko – Kosodrevina starting in the winter season 2016/17 skiers will enjoy a comfortable transfer to Chopok thanks to a new 15-person gondola. A new snow-grooming vehicle and snowmaking will improve the maintenance of the southern trails of Mt. Chopok. Thanks to investments of EUR 14 million all ski trails will be accessible to skiers, including the most picturesque trail Chopok – Krupová, and the skiers will no longer have to transfer with difficulties from the chairlift to the gondola.

“The new gondola at Chopok will increase the resort’s transportation capacity by 2,800 persons per hour, and by adding four kilometers of snowmaking we’ll greatly raise our clients’ comfort on the slope. The most entertaining Aquapark Tatralandia will boost its visitation thanks to its new attraction, Surf Wave.  We believe that the varied offer of Surf Wave, the free fall simulator – Hurricane Factory, or Bike World in Jasná will attract new adrenaline enthusiasts to Liptov,” Bohuš Hlavatý, TMR’s CEO stated.

The ski resort Jasná at the north side of Mt. Chopok this year will undergo a modernization project of building a square and the first phase of Jasná Center. The financial investment into renovation of Champagne bar and the music club Happy End and covering of its upper terrace with cash desks and a store will require EUR 368 thousand.

In the first phase of the extensive project Jasná Center a new hotel will be added next to Hotel Grand. By renovating the original administration building “the Old Post Office” an interesting architectural project will be built with a restaurant, bar, wellness and other services. The total CAPEX for the new hotel will come to EUR 4.6 million.

After the last year’s success of the temporary artificial wave for surf fans, the Liptovian Aquapark Tatralandia will get a new attraction before the summer – a surfing simulator for EUR 2.9 million. The inspiration for building this water attraction was derived from surfing on the most beautiful and best beaches of the world, Maui and Waikiki. The surfing simulator or the artificial wave simulation in Tatralandia will be done as a ride in four lanes with a different speed of waves and wind.

Investments of EUR 750 thousand into the renovation of 44 rooms of Grandhotel Praha in Tatranská Lomnica and a new outlet in Starý Smokovec are planned for this year in Vysoké Tatry.

TMR plans to invest EUR 19 million to the Polish resort Szczyrkowski Ośrodek Narciarski S.A. (SON) and to Silesian Amusement Park (Śląskie Wesołe Miasteczko) this year.
